The company TIB Transport d.d. has had the environment management system complying with the ISO 14001 international standard established for a number of years. The company's path of development is based on environmentally responsible management, which is a part of the current trend in operations of companies wanting to further enhance their reliability.
The environment management system is maintained on the basis of years of experience and the objective knowledge that transport of dangerous good represents a great potential danger to the environment as well as other traffic participants. We are also aware of the fact that we work and live in an environmentally sensitive area of the Reka River, which is also a part of the influence area of the Škocjanske jame Caves Regional Park. Our concern for protection of the environment is also affirmed with implementation of the annually set environmental objectives and programmes representing an integral part of our annual business plans.
In the last few years we have successfully implemented some important environmental objectives of the company, to name but a few:
- We have purchased and equipped the technical intervention vehicle for use in case of road traffic accidents involving dangerous goods.
- We have arranged for parking lots for vehicles transporting dangerous goods in line with all legal requirements related thereto.
- We have reconstructed the old traffic department building and obtained a classroom where up to 60 people can attend training and education. With the classroom at the company's head office we have met all material and technical conditions for carrying out training of drivers for transport of dangerous goods - ADR - and the classroom is also used for other types of training.
- We have reduced the loss of drinking water in the company by reconstruction of the damaged water supply system.
- We have established a separate collection system for all types of waste produced at the company's site and provided for appropriate disposal.
- We have rehabilitated the bulk of written-off vehicles and semi-trailers.
We have also been constantly reducing consumption of energy (fuel, water, electricity) as well as other negative impacts on the environment (emissions, waste). All of the above has been to a large extent reflected in cost reduction. |
