Beginnings of the company TIB Transport d.d. Ilirska Bistrica date back to 1947. An important milestone for the company was in 1962 when the concept of its development was outlined, namely transport of petroleum products and other liquids with special emphasis on transport of dangerous goods. The underlying direction of development meant that the company had to adjust the entire structure accordingly in the following years. Today the company, a part of the biggest Slovene road transport group Viator & Vektor since 2001, is one of the major road transport companies in Slovenia. It is the biggest company in transport of dangerous goods (fuels, heating fuels, gases and chemicals) with a fleet of 110 units.
In addition to specialising in road transport of dangerous liquids the company gives particular attention to logistic support of road transport of dangerous goods. The company uses know-how and experience accumulated through years of development to expand and advance the core transport activity and logistic support in line with the development strategy.
The company's mission is based on quality, safety, ecological acceptability, and price competitiveness of its transport services. We were the first road transport company in Slovenia to receive acknowledgement for our environmental awareness by obtaining the ISO 14001 environmental certificate in 2000. We were also the first in Slovenia to receive a positive report from the independent certification body BVQI on meeting the requirements of the SQAS standard. SQAS is a tool for assessing quality, safety and environmental protection management systems established by logistic services providers.
