1947
The beginnings of our company date back to 1947 when the regional company "OKAP" Ilirska Bistrica was established. The company had 7 vehicles and 16 employees at the time. It was renamed to TRANSPORT Ilirska Bistrica in 1954.

1962
The year 1962 was an important milestone for the company with outlining of the concept for transport of liquid petroleum products and other liquids with special emphasis on transport of dangerous goods.

1977
The specialisation in transport of liquid petroleum products and other liquids was fully affirmed and confirmed by the market. The number of vehicles and employees exceeded 150 and 500, respectively.

1991
The year 1991 was marked by disintegration of Yugoslavia and independence of Slovenia. This resulted in substantial loss of market for the company and reduction of the vehicle fleet by 30%. Simultaneously, the entire structure of the company had to adjust to new free market conditions.

1997
The company was entered in the Companies Register as a public limited company on 22 July 1997. The company underwent ownership transformation from p.o. (full liability) to d.d. (public limited company).
The company is currently one of the major road transport companies in Slovenia, and the biggest company in dangerous-goods transport (heating fuels, fuels, gases and chemicals).
In addition to distinct specialisation in road transport of dangerous liquids, the company pays special attention to logistic support of road transport of dangerous goods. We use the know-how and experience accumulated during the years of the company's existence to expand and upgrade the core transport activity and logistic support in line with the development strategy.

2000
The company TIB Transport d.d. was the first road transport company in Slovenia to introduce the environment management system and obtain the environmental certificate ISO 14001.

2001
The company's ownership changed. The major shareholder became the company Viator & Vektor d.d. from Ljubljana. New ownership brought along a new name: TIB Transport, d.d., Ilirska Bistrica.
The company opened for business the new parking lot for trucks encompassing 16,700 m2, which can receive 100 heavy freight vehicles, in November 2001. The parking lot fully complies with the EU and Slovene legislation as well as the Rules on Minimum Technical and Other Requirements for Parking and Maintenance Facilities of Motor Vehicles and Their Trailers. The new intersection enabling direct access to the parking lot from the Ljubljana - Rijeka regional road was constructed at the same time. This development has strengthened the company's standing as the specialist in dangerous-goods transport and underlined the aspiration to become an important gravitational centre in Slovene transport industry.

2002
The company TIB TERMINAL d.d. was merged with TIB TRANSPORT d.d.

2006
TIB TRANSPORT d.d. paid all due amounts to shareholders of TIB TERMINAL d.d. and deleted that company from the Companies Register.
